WINTER CLOTHES AND BLANKETS DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM TO THE POOR IN REMOTE VILLAGES

We wish to inform that during this winter season the temperature dropped to 5° to 10°c (41° to 50°F), particularly in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Kareemnagar and Warangal of Andhra Pradesh. The poor people are facing a lot of health problems due to severe cold since they are not having warm clothes required to protect themselves. During our field visits the above fact was noticed and it has been decided to distribute winter clothes and blankets to these underprivileged people of the above districts.

The survey of the above districts was taken up and a list of 2,250 families was prepared by our field staff. We have prepared packets containing one bed sheet and one woolen blanket for each family.

During last week we have taken up distribution of these packets to 890 families residing in 18 villages. The remaining families will be covered during next week Insha-Allah.

The cost of each packet is Rs.300/- (US$: 7) and the cost of total distribution comes to Rs.6.75 lakhs (US$: 15,750). During the distribution of these packets in the above villages it is observed that many of our brethren who were misguided by the selfish elements and made them to change by offering petty benefits have came back to us and realized their mistake. Alhamdulillah many of them have come back to their actual way of life. This change was the result of our continuous contact with them during the months of Ramadan and Eid ul Adha and also the present distribution program.
